Public transport modelling forecasts who will use a service, where they come from, and what they would otherwise have done. That means mode choice done properly, not a fixed split applied after the fact.
We implement and calibrate mode choice components within multi-modal strategic models, refine zone structure along corridors where the geography demands it, and test service and network options against patronage and accessibility objectives.
Patronage forecasts by scenario and year, mode share analysis, corridor and catchment assessment, and inputs prepared for economic appraisal.

Built the Parramatta CiTran multi-modal model with Parramatta City Council to determine the optimal car and public transport split into the CBD.
Implemented the Perth mode-choice model into the Brisbane Strategic Travel Model, resolving a matrix overwrite issue; the scripts built are still in use.
Analysed short car trips by travel purpose for a part of Sydney to identify the potential mode-shift to walking and cycling, as a starting point for planning.
STM travel demand modelling of bus, rail and light rail options for the South West Sydney (Bringelly) land release, for the Bureau of Transport Statistics.
STM modelling of bus Contract Regions for the ministerial Unsworth Review of NSW bus services, testing route and frequency options.
Implemented a primitive mode-choice module in the Wyong traffic models, shifting trips to bus based on proximity of trip origin and destination to the route.
