Wyong Traffic Models — Mode Choice

The NSW Government has ambitious public transport targets, so it is important for even small models to include a mode-choice module, however primitive.

For the Wyong traffic models we developed, a primitive mode-choice module was implemented based on three components: a target set by the user; a factor for how close the trip origin is to the bus route; and a factor for how close the destination is to the bus route. The mode shift was calculated from all three components.
